We are Connor and Alicia Magee- North Carolina natives, newlyweds, adventurers, and Christ Followers.

Get to know a bit about us from the other’s perspective:

Connor’s love for adventure began as a child, playing barefoot in his backyard with his brother. As a teenager, his passion to become true outdoorsman grew as he read every guide book known to man, skipped school to hike (sorry mom), and tested his technical knowledge by bagging some of the big mountains of the Appalachian and the even bigger mountains of the Rockies. As an adult, Connor is a United States Army veteran, has traveled all over the world, and has grown substantially in his love for the Lord. His favorite things in this world are his wife, rock climbing, new running shoes, John Eldredge books, and theological deep dives. He is fiercely protective of those he loves, an incredible teacher, and confident in all he does.

Alicia was born in the mighty state of Florida :) She moved to North Carolina when she was four. The oldest of her sisters, Alicia was always finding new and creative ways to get outside and explore. Whether that was playing team sports, providing disaster relief for disadvantaged communities, working domestic and international missionary positions, camping, hiking, or just being in the sunshine, she can’t seem to get enough of the outdoors. From her teenage years into adulthood her passion for these hobbies & vocations grew into grand adventures spanning the globe, taking her from Africa to South America and everywhere in between. Alicia has a heart like no other, truly caring about others in a Christ-like way, she takes the time to make sure that there is a personal connection that’s meaningful and lasts long after a conversation has ended. Alicia is truly a “smell the roses” kind of gal, and you’ll always find a new way to appreciate life when you’re with her.

Together, we decided to start Uproot Creative, not as a photography hobby, but as a way to truly push ourselves and make a difference in this world by capturing life’s most beautiful moments and assisting others grow their businesses, churches, and personal platforms.
